What makes it comfortable

Resume

Pick up where you left off

Go to the Home Screen or force quit the app — when you open it again, it returns to the exact spot in the file you were reading.

Auto-Scroll

Press and hold for 1 second

Lift your finger to stop, or turn on Keep Auto-Scrolling to continue hands-free. Choose from 20 speeds, and shake your phone to stop.

Encoding

No garbled text

Beyond UTF-8, older EUC-KR (CP949) and Shift-JIS files are detected automatically. Even files several megabytes long scroll smoothly.

Search

Jump to the sentence you want

Every match in the text is highlighted, and the up and down buttons move between them.

Reading Settings

A screen that suits you

Adjust font size, line spacing, and margins, and choose from three fonts and Light, Sepia, Gray, or Dark themes.

Organizing

Tidy, like the Files app

Create folders, sort by name, date, or size, select several items to move or delete, and press and hold to reorder.

Language

Change the language in Settings and the app switches right away. The User Guide is replaced with the file for that language too.

Adding files

  1. Import buttonTap the import button at the top right of the file list and choose files from iCloud Drive, Downloads, and more.
  2. Share from another appShare a .txt file you received in Messages or Mail and choose “Text Viewer”.
  3. Files appPut files in the “On My iPhone › Text Viewer” folder and they appear in your list.
  4. Connect to a MacSelect your iPhone in Finder and drag files onto Text Viewer in the Files tab.
